Our professional engineers, senior and associate engineers and project managers are among the most qualified in their respective fields. We are active in all major professional and industry associations, including Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Edison Electric Institute (EEI), American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and Smart Electric Power Alliance (SEPA).

Mark Scher, P.E., President

As founder and former president of MSE Power Systems, Mark led the company’s growth to more than 200 employees and $75 million in revenue before its sale in 2008. With more than 30 years of broad experience across the U.S. and in more than a dozen countries, Mark has completed over 300 T&D projects at voltages up to 765 kV. He was a pioneer in the wind industry, interconnecting more than 10 GW of wind power. Mark is a past member of the AWEA’s transmission committee and contributing author to the AWEA Grid Code. He holds a BS in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a licensed professional engineer in eight U.S. states.

Glenn Melski, Chief Operating Officer

Joining AHV in 2016, Glenn is responsible for day-to-day leadership. He started his career in design, construction and project management of large scale infrastructure projects before entering the renewable energy field as one of the first North-American employees at a world-leading wind power company. While holding many key roles with Vestas, Glenn developed several overseas markets and organizations to service them. With Enel for close to ten years, he held management and executive roles, helping grow the European energy giant into one of North America’s largest owner-operators of wind, solar, geothermal and hydro generation. After that, Glenn ran a utility-scale solar construction business. With 20+ years of experience in power generation, he has negotiated more than $2 Billion of contractual agreements tied to several dozen major transactions. Glenn holds a Bachelor of Engineering from McGill University and a Masters of Business Administration from University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. He is a licensed Engineer.

Michael Nadeau, P.E., Director of Engineering and Pre-Construction

Mike is responsible for estimating, proposals, business development and assists with day-to-day operations. He is an electrical engineer experienced in the design and oversight of over 50 substation and transmission projects up to 345 kV for numerous utility, renewable and non-renewable generation, and industrial clients. Mike specializes in the protection & control and physical design of high voltage substations and was the electrical engineering department lead at MSE Power Systems. Mike is an active member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society Substations Committee. He holds a BS from Villanova University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in seven U.S. states.

Frank Garrow, Director of Commercial Operations

Frank has over 13 years of professional experience in the construction industry, including successfully running his own real estate holding company for over nine years. Since joining the AHV team in January 2014, Frank has demonstrated diversified leadership in procurement, project management and financial oversight of multiple high voltage projects. At present, Frank is responsible for all procurement activities, e.g. contract negotiations and buyout of all material and labor required. While achieving results needed, he also maintains strong relationships with all subcontractors and suppliers. Frank holds a degree in Business Administration from State University of New York.

Dan Ambrosino, Director of Projects

With 19+ years of experience in all aspects of commercial and municipal construction projects, Dan oversees and supports all management, commercial and contractual obligations to ensure the success of AHV’s projects. Dan has a broad range of successful projects in Wind, Solar, Electrical T&D, and Heavy Highway Construction. At Tetra Tech Construction, performed multiple aspects of construction management with increasing levels of responsibility including field engineering, quality management, estimating, project scheduling, procurement and senior project management. This prior experience equips Dan with a thorough understanding of construction project issues, clients’ needs and contractual requirements. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University.
