We are active in all major professional and industry associations, including Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Edison Electric Institute (EEI), American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA).


Mark Scher, P.E., President

As founder and former president of MSE Power Systems, Mark led the company’s growth to more than 200 employees and $75 million in revenue before its sale in 2008. With more than 30 years of broad experience across the U.S. and in more than a dozen countries, Mark has completed over 300 T&D projects at voltages up to 765 kV. He was a pioneer in the wind industry, interconnecting more than 10 GW of wind power. Mark is a past member of the AWEA’s transmission committee and contributing author to the AWEA Grid Code. He holds a BS in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is a licensed professional engineer in eight U.S. states.


David Scher, Executive Vice President

David is responsible for new business development and working with clients to evaluate their project options. With more than 20 years of finance and power-related experience, David grew up working in his family’s electrical contracting business, co-founding MS Engineering which then transformed into MSE Power Systems. In addition to management roles with MSE, David has held key leadership roles with investment firms, including Goldman Sachs. David has a BA from the University of Rochester and an MBA from the Booth School at University of Chicago.


Shakir Wilson, Director of Operations

Shakir is responsible for estimating, proposals, business development and assists with day-to-day operations of the company. With more than 10 years of experience in all aspects of power delivery, Shakir has functioned as a design engineer, field engineer, procurement manager, estimator and commercial operations director in his career. Shakir’s experience encompasses over 150 electrical substation and transmission projects in 20+ states and 5 countries with voltage levels up to 400 kV. In addition, Shakir was involved with projects accounting for more than 5 GW of installed wind in North America. Shakir has also held managerial roles with CG Power Solutions (formerly MSE Power Systems) and functioned as an application engineer at GE focusing on energy storage. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.


Michael Nadeau, P.E., Director of Engineering

Mike is an electrical engineer experienced in the design and oversight of over 50 substation and transmission projects up to 345 kV for numerous utility, renewable and non-renewable generation, and industrial clients. He specializes in the protection & control and physical design of high voltage substations and was the electrical engineering department lead at MSE Power Systems. Mike is an active member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society Substations Committee. He holds a BS from Villanova University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in NY.


Mark Nannini, Director of Field Services

Mark is responsible for overseeing all field services, including construction management, commissioning and testing for the company. With more than 25 years of experience, Mark has functioned as an electrician, commissioning engineer, commissioning manager and director of field services in his career. Mark’s experience encompasses over 200 electrical substation and transmission line projects in 25+ states and 5 countries with voltage levels up to 400 kV. In addition, Mark was involved with projects accounting for more than 8 GW of installed wind in North America. Mark previously held the position of Director of Field Services for CG Power Solutions (formerly MSE Power Systems) and worked in the electrical industry as an IBEW inside wireman.
